[April 8, 2005] - ANOTHER DEATH BY STARVATION TAKING PLACE IN GEORGIA - In LaGrange, Georgia, an 81 year old woman who is neither terminally ill, comatose, or in a "vegetative state" is being starved to death. The granddaughter, who had financial guardianship ONLY, was able to obtain medical guardianship by the ruling of a judge. The grandmother, Mae Magouirk, had a living will which stipulated that she was NOT to be deprived of food or liquids if she was not in a comatose or vegetative state. Yet the judge allowed the granddaughter to have full control over her medical situation and therefore Mrs. Magouirk is being starved to death. The granddaughter stated: "Grandmama is old and I think it is time she went home to Jesus," Gaddy told Magouirk's brother and nephew, McLeod and Ken Mullinax. "She has glaucoma and now this heart problem, and who would want to live with disabilities like these?" Her disabilities are glaucoma and a dissected aorta! This line of "reasoning" is leading to the same mentality that allows for a woman to have an abortion for any reason under the sun. If courts allow this case to result in the death of Mrs. Magouirk then pretty soon euthanasia will become as normal as abortion on demand! A person will be able to kill a sick relative for any reason they choose. [April 1, 2005] - AMERICA'S CULTURE OF DEATH MOVES FORWARD - The pro-death movement gained a victory yesterday with the death of Terri Schiavo. Those people who were in favor of Mrs. Schiavo being starved and dehydrated to death got their wish. With thousands of abortions killing unborn babies each day in America and around the world, euthanasia will now start adding to the statistics of the death of innocent victims. The fact that the American government prescribed the death of an innocent women by these or any other means should be disturbing to every American. We are truly on a slippery downhill slide in America from which we may never recover.

[Dec 31, 2004] - THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM FROM AN ARAB PERSPECTIVE - Since 9/11 much has been written and spoken about the religion of Islam. Most of these statements describe Islam as a peaceful religion that has been hijacked by fundamentalist radicals. Even the President has stated that Islam is a religion of peace. The truth, though politically incorrect, is the exact opposite of what has been perpetrated upon the world by this glossing over of the true nature of Islam. I came across an article written by an Arab woman in which she states the reality concerning those who adhere to Islam and their true feelings towards the world. She writes about the reaction of some of her Muslim friends after 9/11 occurred: "I immediately telephoned a number of Muslim friends. Without exception, they made excuses for terrorism, denied the responsibility of Muslim culture, and concluded that 9/11 was an Israeli conspiracy. [Dec 21, 2004] - ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CULTURE WAR...AGAIN - Once again the opponents of Christianity are trying to remove Jesus Christ from the Christmas holiday. It used to be that a simple "X" in place of "Christ" satisfied those of an anti-Christian bent. Now it has become a crusade for some groups and persons to have Jesus removed from the Christmas season altogether. Throughout America cultural battles are taking place over Nativity scenes appearing on city property. Since Christmas is a federally recognized holiday I not sure I understand why governments shouldn't have Nativities on their property. Businesses are using the phrase "holiday season" instead of Christmas season. I find it ironic that these corporations are making hundreds of millions of dollars because of Christmas yet they want to remove the word from their advertising. They don't make that kind of profit during the "Valentine season" or the "Fourth of July season" or the "Halloween season". Hollywood also does some of its best business during the Christmas season yet they usually mock Christians in most of the movies that have a character who believes in Jesus Christ. Salvation Army Santas have also been banned from some storefronts. The rationalization that I've heard from most companies concerning this issue is that they say they give to charities all year round. The difference here is that in this case it is the people, not the companies, who are giving to charity. Salvation Army Santas also bring joy to children who are able to go up and give a small donation knowing that they are helping poor people. Yet these companies are only concerned about the donations people give to their cash registers by buying their products during the CHRISTmas season. The Jewish columnist of the New York Times, Charles Krauthammer, wrote a column speaking to this anti-Christmas bias of certain minority organizations: Charles Krauthammer: "Just Leave Christmas Alone"

[Dec 3, 2004] - THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST IS PAYING FOR ADS PROMOTING ACCEPTANCE OF GAY LIFESTYLE - The United Church of Christ is running a television ad to promote the acceptance of homosexuals into church congregations. The ad states: "Jesus didn't turn people away. Neither do we." They are correct in that Jesus did not turn people away. But neither did He tell them to continue living in sin. When the religious leaders brought a woman caught in adultery to Him He forgave her. He also told her to "sin no more". He didn't give His approval for her to continue committing adultery. Homosexuals like any other sinners should be welcome in any church. But the desired result of their participation should be a change of heart by which they would no longer practice living in sin. All humans struggle with sinful behavior but we should allow the Lord Jesus to help us get the victory over sin in our lives daily. We need to come to Him on His terms not ours. [Dec 1, 2004]-THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL?! - A fifth grade teacher in Cupertino, California, has been prohibited by the school principal from passing out copies of the Declaration of Independence because it makes references to God the Creator. The teacher, who is a Christian, has to submit all his lesson plans to the principal for approval. Other teachers at the school are not required to submit their lesson plans to the principal. A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the teacher by attorneys for the Alliance Defense Fund. This is another example of the hostility that is present in our country towards Christians. The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco originally ruled that the pledge of allegiance was unconstitutional because the words "under God" endorsed religion. [Nov 16, 2004] - BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE PER GARRISON KEILLOR (IN JEST?) - Democrat radio host Garrison Keillor said before an audience at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel in Chicago that he was on a quest "to pass a constitutional amendment to take the right to vote away from born-again Christians". His audience responded with enthusiastic applause. He said that since a Christian's citizenship is in heaven they should not be allowed to vote in America's elections. Though this comes across as a tongue-in-cheek monologue there is a deeper level to the mentality that is being exhibited here by Mr. Keillor. There have been many opinion columns written by liberal journalists since the election in which those who hold to the Christian faith are denigrated for their beliefs. These episodes are the latest examples of the deep-seated hatred that liberals have toward Christians. It is ironic that liberals who castigate Christians for their lack of tolerance have so little of it themselves when it comes to those who have a sincere belief in God. [Oct 23, 2004] - THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CONTINUES IT'S ANTI-ISRAEL POLICY - In July the Presbyterian USA denomination discussed a plan to quit investing in corporations that do business with Israel. This week a Presbyterian delegation met with the terrorist organization Hezbollah. This is the same terrorist group that was held responsible for the killing of 241 American soldiers in the marine barracks explosion in Lebanon in 1983. The Presbyterian Church is continuing an historical policy of denouncing and persecuting the Jews that has been perpetrated on them by the Christian Church for thousands of years. The Presbyterian USA denomination has become known for it's liberal policies in the recent past. It seems that they have now added hatred of Israel to the litany of unbiblical positions that they currently hold. Presbyterian Church reaches out to Hezbollah

[Oct 6, 2004] - LOUISIANA DISTRICT JUDGE OVERRULES STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO BAN HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE - Once again a judge has taken it upon himself to overturn the will of the people. A district judge in Louisiana overturned that state's recently passed amendment to the Louisana State Constitution to ban same-sex marriages. The judge's objection to the amendment was that it not only prohibited homosexual marriages but also civil unions. This ruling shows clearly that those people who are opposed to a Federal homosexual marriage-ban amendment are being disingenuous when they declare that this issue should be left up to the states. This amendment passed by a 78% margin of the people of the State of Louisiana yet one judge has overruled the people. The Culture War continues.
