[Feb 28, 2004] - THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS IS TO THEM THAT ARE PERISHING, FOOLISHNESS - I have read many of the reviews of the movie "The Passion of the Christ". Not one of the reviews that I read was critical of the cinematography or the acting. These are usually two of most important facets of movie reviews. The reviews that have criticized the movie have only criticized the CONTENT and the presentation of the content. In other words, they are criticizing the content of the Bible which is what the movie portrays. These reviews that have been negative are actually to be expected according to the Bible. In 1 Corinthians 1:18 the apostle Paul states, "For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." The world doesn't want to hear the gospel which states that Jesus Christ suffered for their sin.

[Feb 25, 2004] - I SAW "THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST TODAY" - Wow! Right up front the scene that impacted my spirit the most was the crucifixion itself. As horrible as it was watching Jesus brutally and viciously beaten by the Roman soldiers, it was Jesus' death on the cross that touched my spirit the deepest. I guess my inner man was able to really appreciate that Jesus died for me. The other parts of the movie are also extremely artistic in nature. The scenes that showed the demonic influence on Judas were fascinatingly effective as were most of the flashbacks that showed scenes from Jesus' life prior to the crucifixion. The movie does show, as the Gospels proclaim, that the Jewish leaders and their followers instigated the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus. It also accurately makes clear that it was the Romans who carried out the scourging of Jesus and His crucifixion. Through the flashbacks we see that no one took Jesus' life but that He laid it down of His own accord. It is also during a flashback when Jesus' states clearly, as is written in John 14:8, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me." The use of the original languages gives the film an air of authenticity that I don't believe could have been achieved if it had been done in English. The subtitles can be read clearly and quickly and do not detract from the film. The scourging and beating of Jesus was extensive but so was the real event. I look forward to the DVD so I can watch this movie again.

[Feb 24, 2004] - PRESIDENT BUSH BACKS A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT DEFINING MARRIAGE AS A UNION BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN - President Bush is backing an amendment to the Constitution that would in effect ban homosexual marriages. In his speech the President mentioned activist judges as one reason this amendment is needed. I only hope that if this amendment is eventually passed that future activist Supreme Court judges won't find some way to disregard it. I find it interesting that the Democratic response to this call for an amendment by President Bush is to accuse him of tampering with the Constitution. [Feb 24, 2004] - ANDY ROONEY OF 60 MINUTES CALLS MEL GIBSON WACKO - In his Sunday night "60 Minutes" commentary Andy Rooney called Mel Gibson and Pat Robertson wackos. He also said that they were as crazy as bedbugs. Mr. Rooney, a professed (or confessed) liberal, is a shining example of how the liberal media truly feels about Christianity and Christians. I wonder if Hillary Clinton will acknowledge that there is more evidence for a vast, left-wing conspiracy (i.e. liberal media, social scientists, activist judiciary etc) than there was for her belief in a vast, right-wing conspiracy. Let's see...hmm...the press is attacking Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion of the Christ" yet is relatively silent on the illegality of the homosexual marriages taking place in our country. [Feb 20, 2004] - SAN FRANCISCO SUES CALIFORNIA OVER HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE BAN - In one of the all-time examples of irony and hypocrisy the law-breaking San Francisco city government wants to use the legal system to support their position on performing homosexual marriages. Why isn't the California Attorney General enforcing state law by arresting San Francisco city government leaders? The only good news is the state is not registering these sham "marriages" because the participants are altering the marriage applications which are formatted with heterosexual language. [Feb 18, 2004] - SAN FRANCISCO JUDGE REFUSES TO UPHOLD THE LAW - A judge in San Francisco refused to order the city to stop same-sex marriages. Instead he told the San Franciscan government to cease and desist or to return on MARCH 29, OVER ONE FULL MONTH FROM NOW, to explain why they haven't. The judiciary in this country is out of control! Where is the media who was all over the Judge Roy Moore story concerning their belief that he was violating the law by having the Ten Commandments monument in the courthouse? Here a government official, the mayor of San Francisco, is clearly breaking the law but nary a peep from the liberal news media. Hopefully a higher court will prevail and not only put an end to this travesty but annul these farcical "marriages".

[Feb 16, 2004] - TEMPLE MOUNT SUPPORT WALL COLLAPSES - An embankment meant to shore up the wall surrounding the Temple Mount in Jerusalem collapsed Feb 14. The Israelis attributed it to the heavy snowfall and an earthquake that occurred a few days before. Predictably the Waqf (Palestinian authority in charge of the Temple Mount) blamed Israeli excavations at the Western Wall. More likely it is a result of the illegal construction going on underneath the Temple Mount by the Arabs. [Feb 12, 2004] - SAN FRANCISCO PERFORMS HOMOSEXUAL WEDDINGS IN DEFIANCE OF CALIFORNIA LAW - The city of San Franciso took the law into their own hands today by performing homosexual marriages in defiance of the state law which prohibits same-sex marriages. The Culture War is heating up in this country by the actions of activist judges and law-breaking government authorities. I believe that San Francisco wanted to get the jump on Massachusetts so as to be identified as having the first homosexual marriages in America.

[Feb 6, 2004] - OHIO NOW HAS DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT (DOMA) - Governor Bob Taft signed the Defense of Marriage act into law today. This law, which goes into effect in 90 days, will ban same-sex marriages in Ohio and the state will not recognize same-sex marriages from other states as being valid. This is a good start but it will not be enough to stop a lawsuit from taking place challenging the constitutionality of this law. We saw how activist judges in Massasschusetts overstepped their constitutional limitations by forcing that state's legislature to make a law legalizing same-sex marriage. The same thing could happen in Ohio. Once again a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman is needed to overrule liberal activist judges in this country.

[Feb 5, 2004] - MASSACHUSETTS SUPREME COURT OVERRULES GEORGE WASHINGTON, JOHN ADAMS, THOMAS JEFFERSON, and JAMES MADISON - The Massachusetts Supreme Court has overruled George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and the rest of our Founding Fathers. When these very wise early Americans set up our country they decided that the government should be divided into three branches. The legislative branch to make the laws, the executive branch to sign the laws into effect, and the judicial branch to INTERPRET the laws. The Massachusetts Supreme Court, in another egregious example of judicial activism gone wild, has ordered the Massachusetts legislature to make homosexual marriage legal in their state. If this trend of judical activism continues across the land America will no longer need legislatures. The only thing that will halt this travesty of democratic principles is a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
