Heading with earth and cross logos and the article title of ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)

There is a well known organization in America called the "American Civil Liberties Union" (ACLU) that I believe has harmed America more than it has helped it. What follows is my opinion but I believe that it is shared by others.

The ACLU was formed in 1920 by Roger Baldwin and a host of others whose personal histories usually involved the support of socialist and communist causes. With this foundation the ACLU became a dominate force in the United States judicial system up until this day.

I believe that the following is a list of cases that the ACLU have been involved in or supported over years will show a succession of their attempts to remove Christianity and Christian ideals from the public arena of ideas.

Here are some recent cases that the ACLU has been involved in:

I believe that those cases listed on this page and others I have not covered support my belief that the ACLU will not be satisfied until the United States of America is a completely secular nation. If this happens it would be contrary to wishes of those who came to this land in search of a religious freedom that was found wanting in their native countries. The Founding Fathers of this country knew that for America to be successful the nation had to rely on God's help.

I end this section on the ACLU with a relevant portion of George Washington's farewell address to the citizens of the United States concerning those who would remove religion from the public arena .

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of PATRIOTISM, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. It is substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who that is a sincere friend to it can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?" - George Washington 1796
